The Haiti Community Foundation Manifesto

The Haiti Community Foundation's Manifesto

We don’t believe in charity

We believe in development.

We don’t work FOR the community.

We work WITH the community

Têt ansanm, heads together, always têt ansanm
We bring our communities together

Transcending barriers of race, color, class, gender and politics.

We bring our communities together,
To make each of us and all of us, stronger.

Stronger as citizens, stronger as leaders, stronger as communities,

Stronger as regions and stronger as one nation.
We believe in Haiti and invest in Haiti,

Not just our money, not just our time,

But more so, our hearts, our spirits and our souls,

And the best of ourselves.
We are the Haiti Community Foundation.

Haiti-based, Haiti-led, community-centered.

We help Haitian communities to help themselves,

We support our most vulnerable,
We are building a future where all are welcome to sit at the table,

And work together to develop the communities that we love,

And forge Haiti into a strong and independent nation open to all.

The Haiti Community Foundation's Manifesto

Since October 2016, after the devastation of Hurricane Matthew, we have helped over 7,000 individuals with emergency supplies, rebuilding their homes, restarting their business and getting healthy seeds to replant their lands.  Our focus is self-sufficiency and long-term development of Haitian communities by Haitian leaders and their communities.
